Free community days of action come to Milwaukee County for Crypto Month
October is National Cryptocurrency Month, and we're spending it in our own backyard. Awen is producing SWC Votes Wisconsin, a free series of community events hosted by Stand With Crypto Wisconsin across Milwaukee County. It's four days of free lunches, a community night and an Election Night watch party, with voter information at every stop.
Every event is free and open to everyone. No experience needed, and training is provided at the days of action.
Why we're doing this
"Digital rights are the civil rights question of our generation: who owns your money, your data and your identity online. Movements win by showing up, and that starts with voting. We're making it easy to do both, with a free lunch and your neighbors beside you."
That's Ian McCullough, founder of Awen and president of the Stand With Crypto Wisconsin chapter. As he puts it: "Your digital rights are on the ballot every election, whether you notice or not. We want Milwaukee to notice, and to vote."
